The home, which is patterned after 17th century French farm buildings, is designed to resemble a stable converted to living quarters. Architect and Builder were recognized by the Washington Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and the Washingtonian Magazine (June 2006 issue) for distinctive residential architecture.  Also featured in June/July 2007 issue of Traditional Home Magazine.

Architectural features include:

  • Virginia fieldstone that is roughly buttered with mortar
  • Hammered iron pergola
  • Bamboo and fieldstone screen porch
  • Ludowici clay tile roof
